Emma-2

Back to Sam's Kids

About: On Wednesday December 13th, Emma (2 years old) went to the doctor because of her inability to walk. After numerous tests and a three hour MRI, she was quickly life-flighted to the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital in Minnesota. It was determined that she had Neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer. Chemotherapy was started right away. Unfortunately, Emma’s tumor continued to grow compressing her spine and by Christmas Day she was paralyzed from the chest down. She spent over 15 months living in the hospital. She has gone through 6 rounds of chemo, a stem cell transplant, 20 rounds of radiation, 6 rounds of immunotherapy, 3 major surgeries and countless procedures and sedations. After all of this…Emma was finally cleared to return home. Her family has a lot of work to do to make their home wheelchair accessible. They are accepting donations for construction, medical bills and travel expenses for her upcoming monthly trips to the Children’s Hospital for further chemo treatments, care and monitoring.

Follow her Journey. God Bless!

Special Treat: Emma is our September 2019 Sam’s Kid. Her parents told us that she loves to shop, so we figured we would surprise her with a gift card to Target, so she can enjoy her very own shopping spree.
